This Spider-Man gate was designed with the help of Ed's late grandson, Cody, who passed away at the early age of 8 years on August 19, 2004 after being in a bicycle accident. Cody and his sister are seen in the second picture during the first stages of design. Spider-Man was Cody's favorite superhero. Cody loved to build in the shop, and was very creative as well. Cody would come to Ed with new ideas, and when he would tell Ed about them, they always ended up being cool! Click on a thumbnail for a larger view

 

This unique gate was created to look identical to surrounding pine trees. The detail is absolutely stunning, which includes realistic pine cones throughout, thousands of individual pine needles and a combination lock. An inventive and classy gate, this one is located in a private residential community in Harbor Springs. The homeowners wanted to prevent animals from destroying their courtyard garden without compromising the beautiful views of Lake Michigan.
